Kam Shan Country Park ( Monkey Hill) – Easy

New year, new decade and it’s high time to get back to hiking and exploring new trails and I did just that with my Hong Kong Hiking Chicks.

So decided to take the ladies to the Kam Shan Country park or Monkey hill.

Difficulty: 3/10 as sloped and full of monkeys

Duration: 1.5 hours

How to get there: From Sai Wan Ho Mtr I took the train to Admiralty and changed to the Tsuen Wan Red line and alighted at Lai Chi Kok. From exit A Cheung Sha Wan plaza we took the number 72 bus and got off at the Shek Lei Pui Reservoir. From there we walked on the left and entered the Kam Shan country park, Golden hill road.

We walked down the Golden Hill Road and were greeted by beautiful sights.

Got some pictures of my lovely chicks and the reservoir too.

We continued walking down the path which was concrete all the way.

Finally we came across Macaques monkeys. They were everywhere. We ensured we didn’t carry any food stuff as they can get aggressive.

Caught a man feeding the Macaques too which is not good. There’s a fine of hkd 10000 if anyone is caught feeding the monkeys.

We continued on the same path and got a distant view of the Lions Rock hill.

We came across some toilets along and stopped for a break and pictures.

We continued down the Golden Hill Road.

We had to take a detour to get to civilisation and a bus stop to end the hike.

We crossed the road and there was the bus stop. There are many buses which take you to different Mtrs. 235M, 35 A, 35 X.

We took the 35 A and alighted at the East Tsim Tsha Tsui bus terminus.

This was a beautiful hike. You can do this hike with kids too, however you must not irk the monkeys, though they didn’t trouble us and were mostly to themselves.

Do try this hike!! Happy New year and happy hiking!
