Turtle cove as the name suggests is a nesting ground for the endangered green turtles and is closed to public from June to October. This pretty ‘ baby beach’ is ensconced in Stanley at the southern end of Hong Kong island. Patricia had told me about it so we decided to explore this baby blue with my friend Lamiya.
How to get there: We took the MTR to Sai Wan Ho and exited at A. We then boarded the number 14 bus just outside the station and got off at the Turtle cove beach bus stop. Don’t forget to tap out from the door near driver as you get a rebate. Once you alight walk a bit to the right till you come to a signboard stating Turtle Cove Beach. Go down the steps.
It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining bright and autumn had just begun with a cool 20 degrees.
It was such a serene beach. Just a few swimmers in the sea…. No one around … just us three exploring this beautiful paradise.
Post exploration we continued to Rhino Rock near Stanley fort. We took the number 14 and alighted at the Stanley Fort stop.

Do visit this beach, it’s lovely. Pristine sand, clear waters and deserted. But please leave nature alone and do not usurp the corals from there.
A fun place for a picnic with family and friends. However, no dogs allowed.
