Tai Miu Hike – Medium

Tuesday morning my 22 hiking chicks and I decided to try something new off the Hong Kong island and so we went off to Clearwater bay to try the Tai Miu hike.

Difficulty : 5/10 due to climbing of rocky steps

Duration: approximately 3 hours

How to get there: take the train to Tseung Kwan O MTR and exit at A1. From there walk to the bus terminus to your left and take the green mini bus 103M to Ng Fai Tin – Bay View stop. You need to tell the driver before hand. The bus will stop bang opposite the start of the trail.

We started the climb up the stairs into the lush greenery.

The path is rugged and this trail really gave us a feel of a hike.

We followed the sign that said Tai Miu.

The views were absolutely fantastic, expanse of blue and green in the distance.

There were loads of distance posts to guide you as we continued along this path.

A few obstructive rocks along the way made the hike even more interesting and beautiful flora and fauna.

We continued on the Tai Miu path taking in the lovely views.

We stopped at the intersection which goes to high junk peak but we took the Tai Miu path which was easier as it had rained the previous night and climbing high junk peak when wet is very risky. The ladies enjoyed their snack.

We continued walking and walking and enjoyed the scenic views.

We continued on the Tai Miu path.

Came across some weird shaped rock 😁.

And again there was a peak to climb, loads of ups and down on this trail but it was fun.

Finally the end was in sight.

We reached the Clearwater bay golf and country club and then decided to visit the Tin Hau Temple at Joss Bay.

We also got to see ancient rock carvings.

Finally we walked 5 minutes to the mini bus stop and took number 16 to Hang Hau MTR.

This was a fantastic hike, this is not stroller friendly but it is pet friendly, bike friendly and a good workout.

Do try it!
